To Suds or Not to Suds

Why You Should Rethink Using Shampoo!

First off let me start by saying that this post is no means saying that you should not wash you hair. The entire point of this post is to talk about whether or not you should be washing your hair with actual shampoo.

When making the switch over to organic or natural products many people still hold onto shampoo. This is for different reasons. Some people just love the way soap feels on their hair. Some people love the bubbles. Others feel that it is necessary for them to actually get in there and wash their hair with soap.

To decide whether or not you should wash with shampoo you should first and foremost analyze how oily your scalp is. I have an oily scalp but my hair is kinky and frizzy making it difficult for sebum to travel down the shaft and moisturize my ends. So what I find is that my ends become very dry. Perhaps you have experienced this as well. As a way to combat this I started conditioner washing most washes and only shampooing when I am in need of a clarifier.

If your hair AND scalp is oily you may want to try and explore other methods of washing. Like using diluted apple cider vinegar. It is less harmful to your hair than shampoo. Some people cleanse with baking soda as well. A great rule of thumb is to remember that you don't need to shampoo your hair every time you wash your hair.

If your hair isn't greasy or over-encumbered with product build up there is really no reason for you to shampoo your hair anyway. There are methods to washing your hair with conditioner that will get your hair and scalp clean without stripping it of its natural oils.

If you are finding that you have to shampoo very often make sure you are not using products and treatments that leave buildup on your hair. If you have fine or wavy-straight hair you should only apply oil to the ends of your hair to avoid clogging your scalps pores. When the scalp is clogged with oil and dirt your hair will not grow as much as it potentially can. Conversely, if you shampoo too much your hair will lose out on the much needed sebum it needs to stay healthy and thrive.

Next Post I'll teach you about the importance of oiling ALL hair types.

Hello World!

Welcome to Love4Natural!

My name is Kyanna. I am a student, blogger and writer who loves all things alternative and natural. I decided to make a natural hair site because a lot of people ask me for advice pertaining to hair growth and hair issues. I get asked these questions so often that I decided to make a blog to speak about these issues.

Who This Blog Is For...

This blog is for anyone regardless or race or hair type that wants healthy hair, skin and nails by using natural remedies and alternatives to achieve their goals whether they are length or health related.

What I Talk About...

I will be teaching you how to grow out your hair and how to get your hair healthy. This blog is not a quick fix website. All of the information on this site pertains to what I do to keep my hair healthy. I just recently decided that I want to grow my hair out. So throughout the posts you will see what I am doing to grow my hair and keep it from breaking off or becoming damaged.

I will be talking about hair growth a lot because it is something that many women and men alike struggle with. Hair growth doesn't have to be rocket science. It is simple but if you won't follow the proper steps you need to retain length you will never see results.

WARNING:

I am not a doctor. If you are allergic to some of the things I mention in my posts do not use them. I am not trying to diagnose or cure any of my readers of any ailments. I am just a regular person who knows how to grow healthy hair and nails as well as maintain healthy skin. This blog is only for informational purposes. I am not pushing products or asking for payments. This is not a swindle. This is a natural beauty resource blog.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!

If you or someone you know is interested in natural hair or natural hair care remedies please share this site with them! I am just starting off and any help spreading the word about my blog will be much appreciated!
